The Gift Of Creativity And How This Gift Has Impacted My Journey!

I wanted to share a bit about giving the gift of creativity today and the impact it has had on my own journey.

First let me tell you that Jeanne Oliver Creative Network has made it so easy to give the gift of creativity this year! You can gift a course to a friend, family member, loved one, etc. and they do not even have to have an account on her site.

This gift of creativity has played a significant role in my story and I want to tell you why...

It was about 8 years ago that I was a newlywed, living in Pennsylvania with my husband, Jesse, living in a resident’s hall in which I was the Resident Director. I was studying Higher Education and Counseling at the time, and it was during the two years there that my husband stumbled upon Jeanne Oliver's Network, which at the time was just beginning. Jeanne was coming out with her first art class, Creatively Made. He thought I would enjoy it and entered a giveaway she was hosting in an attempt to win it for me. He did not win the giveaway, but as a result of the story he wrote in the entry, Jeanne generously gifted to me this first art class through her network. You guys, I completely fell in love with the process, with creating mixed media and exploring so many new mediums. It was an awakening experience… like I never knew creating could be so much fun. It opened up a whole new world to me. I remember finishing up my graduate work as quickly as possible to get to creating.

In May of 2013 I graduated, but by that time the trajectory of my journey had been completely altered toward a different direction. It was the gift of creativity that opened for me the steps toward a whole new path.

From the first class I took (and I have since taken several more through Jeanne’s network), I have always thought it would be such a dream to teach a class on her network and kind of can’t believe that 7 years later, I had the opportunity to do so this year . I am truly honored!
